Meet Clive in BSL
Interpreter • Translator • Lecturer • CPD Trainer • MentorLooking back, my career began in engineering before I became involved in BSL research at Moray House College of Education in Edinburgh. Working alongside others as a Deaf native BSL user, I helped record and research BSL at a time when it was gaining recognition as a language in its own right.I was a long-serving presenter and reporter on the BBC’s See Hear. I also presented BSL on the children’s programme You and Me and co-presented the long-running BBC Two schools series Q and A.My work has included film and video production, as well as interpreting and translating English into BSL for television. Years of working with scripts and teleprompters have shaped the practical experience I bring to my CPD workshops.I have taught BSL, interpreting, translation and Deaf Studies at different universities. I am currently an Associate Lecturer at UCL, where I teach BSL.My specialised CPD workshops combine real-life experience with translation theory. They offer a space to share ideas, explore different approaches and develop confidence in your professional choices.Have a look at my workshops. I hope to welcome you to one soon!
